The Australian tolling industry is yet to embrace the powerful computing technologies that underpin leading internet businesses such as E-bay, Google, Yahoo and Amazon.
This paper considers how these architectural models and cloud computing technologies could be applied in the Australian context to deliver business solutions better able to address the changing tolling business models and the emerging road user charging landscape.
Learner Driver logbooks are a legislative requirement to demonstrate compliance with minimum instruction obligations. These logbooks are written and open to fraudulent record keeping. The application of ITS technologies can deliver evidentiary quality record keeping to minimise the opportunities for fraudulent claims.
This paper describes a proposed approach for an ITS-based application for Learner Driver logbooks.
